Apparently they are looking at filing for bankruptcy...
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
I mainly posted this because I wanted to post “Hertz is herting” or “Hertz is in a world of Hert”.

People still rent from Hertz? All corporate rentals for my carrier have been Budget, enterprise or national.

Last time I rented a car, it was from Enterprise.
They had a selection of Nissan Versas, Micras
and V6 Chargers.

My last rental was from National and it was a Chrysler Pacifica. Before that it was a Hyundai Elantra. I rarely take the nissan. I think I got an Altima last summer in Sacramento.

Hertz hasn’t been relevant since they dropped O. J. as spokesman, for some reason, probably money related . When was the last time you even saw a commercial for them?
Will say that they do seem to have more convenient weekend hours than Enterprise in non-airport locations, which is something if you need a car on a Saturday afternoon.

Hertz suffering due to decreasing frequency.

Too bad the nearest rental place to me is an Enterprise. Now that the chains have lowered the age to 18 and waived the Under 25 fee, I need to go rent. I was looking at some corporate jobs with Hertz back at Christmas. If I’d graduated college in, say, 2017 and was in a role there now, shoot. Everything in life happens for a good reason!

Exhibit A of why investors should never touch companies where Icahn is involved. Like TWA, a great company ruined by Icahn. With Hertz there was a lot of skullduggery with options - I suspect he had a disclosed position but was actually playing games so that he was actually way short . Sold my position a long time ago but it was pretty obvious as the games started as soon as he took a stake.

I think I’ve driven every Versa that Enterprise owns.

I feel like the last few times I’ve gone to rent a car, Hertz was like 50% more than the rest, so I moved on.

State Farm did Hertz when someone keyed the Lancer (grumble).

Came here for this. “Hertz, donut?” is a classic for a reason.

I rented about 40 times in 2019. Almost every weekend and sometimes for weeks. Mostly for work. Always p aid for by work.
I rented from Avis, National, Hertz.
Surprisingly National uses to be the most expensive. Almost always. Hertz gave me:
Mustan g GT for cheaper than $20 a day
Expedition
Suburban cheaper than $500 a week in Atlanta. OtD.
